We are open to lots of different ideas for how you can get involved with bees and beekeeping.
Services
Consulting
Do you want to have your own bees but don’t know where to get started? We can help! We’ll let you know what equipment you need, how to get bees, and teach you how to manage your own beehives.
Managed Hives
Do you want to support bees on your property but not necessarily be involved in managing the hives? We can setup a beehive to pollinate your garden and fruit trees and stop by regularly to make sure the bees are happy and healthy.
Hive Relocation/Removal
Send me an email if a swarm of honeybees has moved in on your property. It is helpful if you can send pictures and describe where the hive is located. We do not help with removing wasps, hornets, or yellowjackets, sorry. But if you have honeybees that you would like moved into a beehive, let’s chat!
Mite Treatment
We can help you monitor varroa mites in your hives, recommend treatment options, and also perform oxalic acid vapor treatments as needed. We have all the equipment needed for both monitoring and vaporization. Contact us to discuss pricing and timing.
Honey
We sell local honey though our company Bees and Greens. Check our site there for information and availability.
About Us
Experience
My wife and I currently manage a few beehives on Bainbridge Island and want to help people learn more about bees. I volunteered as a Beekeeping Extension agent in the Peace Corps in Paraguay helping families build their own hives, capture wild swarms, and harvest their own honey to eat and sell. I also worked with the Ohio county extension office inspecting hives and helping with a small commercial operation.
